Ringer Episode 10 Review: One Door Closes, Another One Opens
Midseason finale. And, a couple of bad things happened as well, but we'll get to those shortly.Malcolm and Bridget wised up to the multitude of schemes and lies that surround them and quickly realized that Charlie had been holding Gemma hostage. Siobhan just wanted her kept quiet, not killed (looks like she's got some heart after all). But when Malcolm called the cops on Charlie, Siobhan's lackey decided to use it as an opportunity to extort more money from Siobhan. Since she's currently broke, she was unable to pay. So Charlie, ever the opportunist, decided to blackmail Bridget instead. He confronted her about kidnapping Gemma and then demanded $250,000 for her return.
Andrew came home to see Bridget trying to get the money together and she told him about Gemma. He offered up a gorgeous ring to pay off Charlie and insisted that he accompany Bridget to the rendezvous location. Unfortunately, Bridget had gone to Henry earlier in the day to tell him her suspicions about Charlie and Gemma and he angrily told her to leave the whole situation to the professionals, because she kept screwing things up. So he had called the cops after seeing Charlie leave the Martins' apartment and they trailed Andrew and Bridget to the rendezvous location. When Charlie spotted the police, he called Bridget and told her the deal was off.
Charlie headed to his storage facility, which is where he had moved Gemma to. He shot her, but his "crappy aim" meant she survived to knock him down. While she frantically tried to escape, he shot her for good. Moments after Gemma died, Siobhan arrived at the storage facility and confronted Charlie. As it turns out, she decided to return to New York to clean up some messes. One of those messes involved (accidentally) killing Charlie. She made it look like a suicide and split. Andrew later delivered the news to Bridget that Charlie had apparently shot himself and also killed Gemma. Oh, Gemma, we hardly knew you, and you were getting to be so sassy and awesome. I'm definitely mourning this death.
