WOMEN’S PROJECT SUMMER PROGRAMS

Christ Hospital’s Women’s Project has the following summer programs. Most classes are free, but registration is required for all of them. To register or to get more information, call Michele Bernstein (201) 795-8416.

LATIN CONCERT IN GUTTENBURG

On Wednesday at 7 p.m., 69th and 70th Boulevard East, Guttenburg will feature Latin artist Rene D’ Leon. This will be a live performance together with his dancers of Cafe Y Orquidea from Colombia. This event is free.

FILMS IN VAN VORST PARK

A showing of “Secretariat” will wrap up Jersey City’s summer film series in Van Vorst Park on Wednesday. The film starts between 8 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. All rain dates are the following Wednesday. For more information, visit www.filmsinvanvorst.com .

DR. SASTRY TO CLOSE OF’F’ICE

Dr. P. Z. Sastry will be closing his office located at 100 Bentley Ave., Jersey City, on Wednesday. Patients seen in the past seven years should contact the office at (201) 433-5678 to have their records transferred.

VOLUNTEER GARDENERS NEEDED

The Communipaw Avenue Block Association needs volunteer gardeners in Webb Park, Lafayette and Van Home Street, Jersey City, Thursdays and Fridays until Sept. 1 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Volunteers will sweep up garbage, pull up weeds, and water and maintain the new Glenn D. Cunningham History Trail History Garden. Children and adults are both welcome. Volunteers should wear old clothes and sneakers. For more information, call Rosalyn (201) 432-6565.

Ocean City's Annual Mile Long Spring Block Party on May 14 - Blogspot

9 A.m. to 5 p.m. from 5th to 14th Streets on Asbury Ave. The event will feature over 400 crafters and food vendors. There will be live entertainment from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and free pony rides for children at the Tabernacle grounds off 6th and Asbury Ave., during those same hours. There will be free parking at the Transportation Center, 10th and Haven Ave., in back of McDonalds and at Municipal Parking Lots. Municipal Lots are located at 5th and Asbury Ave. and Central Ave. between 7th and 9th Sts. Merchants' sidewalk sales will be held Sun., May 15 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Block Party is sponsored by the Ocean City Retail Merchants Assn. Born on the California coast, Stephanie spent much of her life traveling, both in the United States and abroad. Her career brought her to New York in 2001, and several years later she settled down in New Jersey to start a family. When the time came to take her infant daughter across the country, she realized how different traveling had become now that she was a parent. During the next few months and many long-distance trips later, she performed extensive research on the best products on the market today for the traveling family. In early 2009, Stephanie launched Coastal Baby Rentals, a baby and toddler equipment rental company offering the same premium products and services she herself wanted for her family while on the road.
