James Dennis Maher
Funeral services for James Dennis Maher, 74, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 30, 2011, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Madill, Oklahoma, conducted by Rev. Oby J. Zunman. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Ardmore, Okla.
A time of visitation and support for family and friends will be Monday at 6 p.m., followed by the Devotion of the Rosary at 7 p.m. at Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
Born September 16, 1936, to the late Thomas A. and Elnora Margaret McNulty Maher, at Ardmore, Oklahoma, Dennis passed from this life Friday, August 26, 2011, at his residence, east of Ardmore.
A graduate of St. Gregory High School, the Class of 1954, Dennis entered Oklahoma A & M College (OSU) and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Husbandry.
A farmer and rancher in the Dickson community, Dennis had also been a 20-year employee of Uniroyal, retiring in 1992.
He and the former Amerylys “Ami” Arnold married May 1, 1999, at Sulphur, Oklahoma.
He was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church of Madill and had served honorably in the U. S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Ami of the home; children, Regina Mize, Oklahoma City, Cari Sisson, Ardmore and Carl and Renee Jenkins, Dickson; grandchildren, Josh, Dayton and Eli Mize, Derek and Taylor Sisson, Beth and Hailee Jenkins, great-grandchildren, Ashtyn, Eithan, Marcus and Mikey Mize; brothers and sisters, Patricia Norcross, Casper, Wyo., Thomas F. Maher, Lafayette, La., John E. Maher, Ardmore, Okla., Eileen Oltmanns, Oklahoma City and Elizabeth Ann Bellinghausen, Hurst, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Nora Margaret Wiles. Serving as bearers will be Hank Morse, Zac Allen, Keith White, Danny White, Sean Maher and Kent Donica. C. J. Jenkins is an honorary bearer.

Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Harvey Lynch, and the son, Jack Lynch. Services were held at the home, Friday afternoon, at 2 o’clock, and the body arrived in Danville, Monday morning, where a short service at 10:30 was held at the home of James White, a cousin. Rev. Clarence Mitchell conducted the service. Flower bearers were Mesdames W.W. Wilson, Ora Hawley, Morton Pike of Indianapolis, and Ralph Shaw of Hammond, La. Messrs. Morton Pike and son, Marion, W.W. Wilson and Bratcher Demarcus of Indianapolis, Agee Wilson of Crawfordsville, and James Wilson were pall bearers. Burial was in the South cemetery. Jack Lynch and friend, Joe Remington, and Mrs. Lenora Hensley, nurse of Mr. Lynch, accompanied the body from Laramie. Out of town relatives and friends were Mr. and Mrs. Omer Stoner and daughter, Josephine, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Stoner, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Stoner and Mr. and Mrs. E.R.
