News Death Notice
PATTERSON, James W. age 84 passed away on Friday, July 8, 2011. Jim was born in Parkersburg, WV on December 6, 1926. He was the son of Otho and Myrtle (Nichols) Patterson. Jim was employed by General Motors with 49 years of service. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II serving under General Matika. He was also a 36 year member of American Legion Post 598. After retiring from General Motors, he drove cars for several area dealerships. Jim is survived by his children: William (Kathy) Patterson, Linda (Mike) Johns, Charles (Laura) Patterson all from Middletown, OH, and Rita (Hubie) Lake of Eaton, OH; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved Norma Jean; a brother Frederick B. Patterson and sister-in-law Corrine Patterson. Jim's love for Norma Jean, automobiles, dancing and big band music filled his life with great joy. He will be sadly missed by his family and a host of friends. Funeral Service will be held at 11 am Tuesday July 12, 2011 at Miami Valley Memory Gardens Chapel. Family will receive friends from 10 am until time of service at Chapel.
