Digital conversion cable is totally anti-consumer. They can reduce the cost of the service, to waive upgrades of capacity and load device indefinitely, leaving consumers with disadvantages, obstacles and surcharges.

Time Warner Cable said personal digital cable adapter (DCA) are required for all unless you have a digital decoder for each device. HDTV with digital tuner does not receive a pass.

I quote: "No adapter = no TV Cable TV will be password protected .."

Thus, all analog and digital equipment, such as PVR, DVDR, Slingbox, PCtuner, is obsolete because it can not decrypt the signal and change channels on the DCA.

No channels will be lost, and the signal is better, Time Warner said. Really?

The adapter supports only standard definition.

I lost all local stations in HD. Most of the analog channels were empty. AAA quality is worse in the side by side comparison analog. It is subject to interference and signal degradation.

Take the $ 100 all-in-one remote, put the TV on channel 3 (or 4) and use the foil DCA Remote, no captions support.

Two or more devices in a room? Thank you to AAA, you can not control the channel independently, because each remote modification of the way across DCA.

What happened to free HD cable without a box, buy a new HDTV and get a converter cable to avoid - so eagerly touted during the DTV transition and other ads?

We were perfectly happy viewing and recording of analog-digital mix, but now will pay more for less, while losing all registration and networking capacity. Even a new DVR and Slingbox would not work without DCA.

Of course, Time Warner would be happy to hire a dozen boxes and digital cable DVR.

I prefer to cut the cable and go old school rabbit ears, radio and newspapers.
