Faith Hill and Tim McGraw get Barbie treatment - See photo
Mattel, the company behind the legendary dolls, has created special edition Faith Hill and Tim McGraw figures under the "Tim McGraw and Faith Hill Doll Gift Set."
The dolls will be available in September for $69.99 on BarbieCollector.com . However, they are not only country stars to get Barbie dolls made in thier likeness. Reba McEntire also has a Barbie model of her own, which hit stories in February 2011.
Linda Kyaw, a designer for Barbie Collector, talked to Entertainment Weekly about Hill and McGraw's involvement on the project. "Tim and Faith sent us photos of every detail," Kyaw told the magazine. "Including Tim's complete suit, piece-by-piece; and Faith's dress, make-up, and clear shots of her hair preference. The couple knew exactly what they wanted to see in doll form, and they helped us achieve the best possible results."
Hill is known for commercial hits such as "This Kiss" and "Just Breathe" and has won five Grammy awards. She and McGraw wed in October 1996 and have three daughters together.
Donna Douglas, the actress who played "The Beverly Hillbillies" bombshell, Elly May Clampett in the 1960s filed a lawsuit in May against Mattel over their Elly May Barbie doll.
In the lawsuit, Douglas claims that Mattel is "engaging in the unauthorized use of (her) name, likeness, image and attributes" and states that the toy company used a photo of the actress in character on the packaging.
The actress is seeking damages of $75,000 for each of the alleged violations.
A spokesperson from Mattel said that the company "licensed the rights to 'Beverly Hillbillies' for this product through the appropriate channels."
Legendary Mattel couple Barbie and Ken rekindled their relationship in February after the two went their separate ways in 2004.
